Today is a short block day, and also the third last class before christmas break!!:) Tomorrow we have a test, on everything we have learned so far, but mostly on rational expressions, which is kind of scary. I'm not too sure in my ability on how to do that but I'm gonna look over my notes and go on the internet and look at the accumulative exercises. Then I should be good to go.

Today is a long block day and I am the scribe. Today we spent all class learning the law of sine and cosine. It's very confusing!

November 20. 2009

Today is a Friday and also a long block day. We started math class with mental math. I got a really bad mark(40%:S) But so far on the current mental math sheet I've done pretty good so far. Then after we were done with mental math, we started on corrections from our previous test which I definitely didn't do well on. After going over some of the corrections and answers I finally understand radicals! I'm going to re-do the test and hopefully get a much better mark.

Today was a short block day. We have a test tomorrow so we are preparing and learning more about trigonometry. I have to study alot tonight

Today was a long block day.:( We started with mental math like always then started learning about Trigonometry. The things that I did remember about trig are:

SOH= in order to get sin you divide the opposite side by adjacent side
CAH= in order to get cosine of an angle you divide adjacent by the hypotenus
TOA= in order to get tangent of an angle you divide the opposite side by the adjacent side

Today was a long block. We started out with mental math. I got a very good mark- 70% percent(boo yah!:)) Then we got a free work period. I did a practice with sixty questions on it and mastered 7 more objectives. I'm finally moving at a decent pace and hope to keep it up.

Today was a long block day. We did mental math then did some examples of rationalizing denominators and solving exponential equations. It's pretty confusing! Then he gave us about 25 minutes to continue on accelerated math. I really gotta catch up !!!

Today was a long block day so we started with mental math. Then we did some more notes on radicals and evaluating them and different methods in order to do that. It was very helpful. I'm almost done a practice and an exercise so that should help bring my mark up. After the notes we got to keep working on our accelerated math :D

Today is a short-blocked friday. You didn't teach us anything new so we have a chance to catch up on accelerated math and such. Well I guess i better go do some math. Have a good weekend and good halloween!!!:)

Today was long block so we started with mental math. I did horrible on it. Then we continued on with more rules for exponents and worked with exponents and radicals. The stuff we learned today is much harder than yesterday's, but I'm slowly getting it, little by little. I just have to try and keep up with everything.

Today we skipped mental math because it's short blocks and we have a test to prepare for tomorrow. We worked mostly on slopes and y-intercept form. It's really hard. I have to leave ten minutes early today unfortunately, but I will be back at 4:00 to get some help.

Today we started with mental math number 15. It was pretty hard. Then we got our tests back and i got 41%. Not very good but definitely better than my last one. I'm slowly grasping these math concepts .

October 19,2009(Monday)

Today we started out math class with mental math. Then he had each row pick out a question from the practice sheet and he did them on the board. I have a better understanding of a few concepts now and fewer questions.

Today we started out the class with mental math. Then after that we went on Poly 1.11 and checked out some complicated 3-d things with long names( which had no relevance to what we are learning, but was "beautiful"):) . then after that he explained some more linear equations and had about 20 minutes at the end of class to continue with accelerated math and ask any questions we had.

work day

Today, October 15 2009, was another work day. Since alot of my fellow classmates are gone to a band thingy, Mr. Maksymchuk told us just to work on whatever we're working on, which is a good thing because I've got quite a bit of catching up to do. Slowly but surely I will get it done:)

Today in Math we went on ronblonde's website and went over graphing linear equations. There was a plane and a line that we played with. I actually understand this part!:)

Today we finished off our first mental math sheet! Then we had to calculate the averages. Mine was about 52%, not exactly horrible but not really good. I expect to improve alot over the semester to hopefully at or higher than 85%.

Today ( October 1), we did mental math and then just spent the rest of our class time working on accelerated math and having the ability to ask the teacher questions if we had any problems with anything. It was time to absorb all the new information that the teacher taught us, which was time well spent.

Today in Pre-Calc we started something new. We played with board things(geo boards) and went on a site to play with virtual geo boards. We were discussing the Pythagorean Theorum. Finally some math I understand!!:D

Today we had Mr. Penner for a substitute teacher(: he told us a story about a restaurant or something before class then he let us work on whatever we had to get done. It was a very productive class

Last night we had factoring homework. I wasn't able to do it because I wasn't exactly sure how, but we did more notes and stuff on it today so I understand it alot better.:)
